TDK2 - Oswald C. Cobblepot by mrbrownie TDK2 - Oswald C. Cobblepot by mrbrownie
Phillip Seymour Hoffman as "Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot"
A.k.a. "The Penguin".

Penguin memorabilia includes the monocle, the cigarette in holder, white gloves, the umbrella, top hat, and tuxedo (includes ribbon bowtie). What of these would be relevant for a face portrait? Hmm. Well the tuxedo would be scratched, as the umbrella (too big). So now we have white gloves, bowtie, hat, cigarette and monocle. More than four elements is distracting. So three is my choice, two elements play support to the main element. So I chose the main element (the one that is held in hand) as the cigarette in it's holder, the immediate support element as the white glove (being the hand) and the monocle as the face support element. The bowtie would've be too distracting, as it would have created a third area of interest. Well, that's my take on the Penguin. Might revise it later :D.

Ah, I see you DID do one of The Penguin. Very cool. i think if the did him as a villain in a Batman movie though, they'd have to choose someone with a pointier nose and a rounder face though.

Thanks, although I would prefer that The Penguin solely comes alive through the characterization not so much visually forcing the look. Maybe make some subtle visual fx to give the impression of a more bird-looking fella.

Yeah, but without the visual characterization, the character doesn't have the same impact. If Heath Ledger had just acted the part without the permanent smile and the face paint, he would've just been a psychopath in a Batman movie, rather than a Batman villain. The Penguin is called The Penguin because he has certain penguin-ish qualities about him. But I'm sure if they did ever do The Penguin as a Batman villain, they would use some visual effects like you said.
